At long long last I’ve managed to watch The King’s Speech after month of waiting. I unfortunately missed it when it was on at the Cinema, mainly because it’s really expensive to watch a movie these days, so I’ve had to wait until the DVD release.
However, the wait was worth it because the film lived up to all the hype that’s surrounded it since it was released. If you’re a hermit or only if you landed on planet Earth the the film is about King George IV and his ascension to the throne whilst trying to overcome a serious stammering problem.
Colin Firth, who plays the King, gives an absolutely amazing performance and you can really see why he won the Best Actor Oscar. The supporting cast of Geoffrey Rush and Helena Bonham-Carter also provide some eye catching performances and help make this a must watch movie.
