When the film Tron was released in 1982 it was applauded for its outstanding graphics which were seen as groundbreaking at the time. However, I must confess that I was never really a fan because I thought the film was quite boring and it felt like Disney was just trying to show off what it can do.
Since the recent release of the sequel, Tron Legacy, I’ve been pondering whether or not I should watch it. With lots of spare time over the Easter break I decided to take the plunge and rent it. I have to say that this time I was quite pleased, not only with the amazing graphics but this time the storyline was a bit more interesting. Although, I have to say that the young CGI’d Jeff Bridges wasn’t convincing and It felt like I was watching a cut scene from a video game.
Tron Legacy is definitely worth watching and I wish that I’d seen it in all its 3D glory because you tell that would have been amazing. I’m going to have to splash out on a 3D TV.
